Station Linne is located by the gate to Alvaret on Öland. World-leading research on flowers, insects and Alvaret’s nature is conducted here. We welcome you to an environment that creates unique conditions for exciting meetings.
Station Linné on the island of Öland provides a perfect and calm base to experience Öland's fantastic nature. Station Linné is situated right next to the plains of Stora Alvaret and the lush greenery of Mittlandsskogen.
Station Linné is not only a place to stay, but also an international researchstation. It has existed since 1963 and is owned by a non-profit foundation. The vision is to contribute to a sustainable future, where all activities aim to benefit biodiversity.
This is what, together with the unique location, makes Station Linné a very special accommodation. Our 28 rooms are divided into single and double rooms, all with private shower and toilet. It is possible add breakfast, sheets and towels as well as departure cleaning. In our well-equipped communal kitchen there is everything you need to prepare your own meals which you can then enjoy in our cozy dining room with lovely views of the garden.
Our café and shop is open in daytime and here you can take a coffee and find a number of fine local products, books and a large selection of entomological material for those interested in insects.
Just around the corner are several hiking trails that are some of the country's most interesting, precisely because of the unique nature and species richness. During the summer, Station Linné also offers an exciting program with nature guides about orchids, bats and Alvaret as well as historical guided tours to "Gamla Skogsby", Öland's largest Iron Age village.
